9 million users connect to 3G in 4 months

As many as 9 million consumers have taken a third generation (3G) mobile connection since the services were launched in the country four months ago.

This number assumes significance when one considers that there are only 11 million wireline broadband customers till date.

While 3G is expected to give data speeds of about 500-600 kbps, consumers across the country are complaining of frequent call drops, poor speeds and erratic connectivity as operators have not yet fully set up their networks

But operators say that these are only teething troubles and they are well on their way to meet the target of 100 million 3G connections by 2015 as projected by analysts.

Petrol price to go up by Rs 5 per litre from midnight

Petrol price hike: from Rs 8 to Rs 63+ in 20 years

In the steepest hike ever, state-owned oil companies on Saturday increased petrol price by about Rs 5 per litre with effect from midnight tonight.
The increase in petrol price, which the oil firms had been holding since January even though crude oil had touched a two-and-a-half-year high, came a day after election results of five state assemblies were announced.
The government had freed petrol price from government control in June but the state-owned oil firms had not raised prices on an 'informal' dictate from the oil ministry.

Food Types for Healthy Hair

The various reasons for Hair loss:
  • Improper diet,
  • Lack of proper vitamins,
  • Genetic factors,
  • Excessive stress, anxiety and worries,
  • Prolonged illnesses like typhoid, anemia, dysentery, jaundice etc,
  • Poor blood circulation, and
  • Unclean scalps.

 To reduce hair loss:

  1. Take a glass of water with flaxseed (alsi) in an empty stomach. This will provide you with the omega 3 acid that you need for hair growth.
  2. Take one amla every day.
  3. Soak 5 almonds every night in water and eat them with their skin on.
  4. Take plenty of fluids like buttermilk, lime juice and coconut water. Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water every day.
  5. One bowl of sprouted pulses for would be great.
  6. Reduce you daily intake of tea and coffee.
  7. When you are washing hair, use a teaspoon of lime juice for the last rinse. That make your hair lustrous while protecting it from dandruff.
  8.  Drink two glasses of skimmed milk for maximum benefits.
  9. Apply a paste of methi seeds on your scalp for half an hour once every week, and drink methi water on empty stomachs.
  10. Eat at least 2 or 3 fruits every day like bananas, apples, mangoes, chikoos, and grapes.
  11. Go green- eat a lot of vegetables, munch away on that iron laden spinach.
